 Avondhu Development Group is a Community Partnership working in the Fermoy, Mallow and Blarney areas of County Cork. Established by local people in 1996, we are a voluntary, not-for-profit, community-based development group dedicated to promoting social inclusion and equality. We are managed by a voluntary board of directors made up of community representatives as well as representatives of the social partners, state agencies and local government.
Avondhu Development is one of 30 'Community Partnerships' which, along with 38 ‘Area-based partnerships’, are mandated by the government to deliver the Local Development Social Inclusion Programme.
Over the last twelve years, has earned a solid reputation as one of the leading community partnerships in the county with a proven track record in developing innovative projects which make a real difference to disadvantaged people.
Avondhu Development Group Ltd will merge soon with its sister company, Blackwater Resource Development, to form a new, integrated local development company for the Greater Fermoy, Mallow and Blarney areas, to be known as ‘Avondhu Blackwater’ .
